Vivian Esther Oliveira, 90, of Hilo, died March 15, 2021, at a care home. Born in Hilo, she was a student of the Activity Center and member at Goodwill.

Burt Jose
Burt Kaleialoha Jose, 63, of Oahu and formerly of Hilo, died March 23, 2021, at Wahiawa General Hospital on Oahu. Born May 15, 1957, in Hilo, he was a U.S. Army veteran and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hilo.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. May 7 at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 for a service with military honors. Private burial to follow.
He is survived by brother, Bernard (Estelle) Jose of Wailea; sisters, Carnation (Rodney) Castillo of Honolulu, Shirley (Kealoha) Medeiros of Kona, and Betty (Randall) Jose-Brannam of Hilo; uncle, William (Julia) Jose of Honolulu; aunt, Noelani Kapuni of Hilo; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Jennifer “Keonaona” Stacey Bryan, 67, of Waimea, died April 20, 2021, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, she was an interior designer.

Christopher Allen Satoru Ducosin, 35, of Keaau died April 19, 2021, at his residence. Born in Hilo, he was a commercial house painter.

Mildred Torayo Sato, 94, of Hilo, died April 8, 2021, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born Nov. 9, 1926, in Hilo, she was retired from the former Hilo Auto &Truck and member of Taishoji Soto Mission and Fukushima Kenjinkai.
Private services held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.
She is survived by son, Lesley (Darol Tanigawa) Sato of Hilo; daughter, Lyndee (Brian) Yoneishi of Hilo; sister, Hirono Haraguchi of Hilo; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jack Bovee
Jack Benedict Bovee, 95, of Captain Cook, died April 14, 2021 at Kona Community Hospital. Born Feb. 11, 1926, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he was a plant manager for Chevron Oil, member of Pioneers of Alaska and Kona Orchid Society, a square and ballroom dancer and a U.S. Army veteran.
Services will be held at a later date.
He is survived by wife, Joan Bovee of Captain Cook; sons, Gregory (Maria) Bovee of California and Aaron (Monica) Bovee of Fairbanks, Alaska; daughter, Crystal (Carl) Springer of Anchorage, Alaska; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
